Description of the Role

The Data Analyst, Finance and Operations, is responsible for the management of all business required reporting, commission payments, pricing initiatives and forecasting. Produce various reports pulled from the company proprietary database to analyze and evaluate sales force performance, sales orders changes, rank advancements, comp plan changes as well as using this data to forecast sales and profitability.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform daily, weekly and monthly reviews and analyses of current processes using operational metrics and reports
  • Prepare various reports on a weekly and monthly basis to report sales orders, revenue, consultant rank advancements, promotions, etc.
  • Prepare technical analysis by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends
  • Perform complex analysis manipulating large data sets to identify actionable business insights
  • Report on pricing and promotions performance across brands, products, regions and accounts to gain insights into pricing and promotional effectiveness.
  • Review pricing levels on products and make recommendations on adjustments in order to maximize sales.
  • Develop tracking against weekly/monthly sales reports and make recommendations of future orders based on insights from field sales and national account teams on pricing and program initiatives in addition to performance trends in order to avoid bottlenecks & backlogs.
  • Create reports from the company proprietary database to interpret and evaluate business data in support of strategic planning and specific marketing initiatives, as required and present findings of studies to top customer leadership group
  • Understand and communicate the financial and operational impact of any changes
  • Suggest changes to senior management using analytics to support your recommendations. Actively participate in the implementation of approved changes
  • Create informative, actionable and repeatable reporting that highlights relevant business trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Conduct insightful, ad hoc analyses to investigate ongoing or one-time operational issues
  • Contribute to team effort by assisting the Support Team in answering commission and customer points related questions as needed
  • Validate resource requirements and develop cost estimate models to assist management when implementing changes to the comp plan
  • Determine operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and modeling data
  • Construct workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing specifications
  • Improve systems by studying current practices; designing modifications
    Recommend controls by identifying problems; writing SOPs (Standard Operating procedures)
  • Define project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases and elements; forming project team; establishing project budget
  • Monitor project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; recommending actions
  • Maintain user confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential

Required Experience & Skills

  • 1-2 years of experience in business analysis
  • Well-developed financial analytical and database management skills to develop and implement sales analytical databases, reports and analytics
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills in order to effectively interact with various functions across the organization
  • Must possess professional maturity and be comfortable with interacting with higher levels of management to communicate facts in a simple and understandable manner including presenting their opinions and ideas
  • Background working with industry data sources and tools like SQL
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Must have excellent skills in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • College Degree required, major in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or other quantitative methods preferred
